Linguistic Profiling of Text Genres: An Exploration of Fictional vs. Non-Fictional Texts

Texts are composed for multiple audiences and numerous purposes. Each form of text follows a set guidelines structure to serve the purpose writing. A common way grouping texts is into types. Describing these types in terms their linguistic characteristics called ‘linguistic profiling texts’. In this paper, we highlight features that characterize type. The findings present study importance parts speech distribution tenses as most important microscopic text. Additionally, demonstrate other relative (top 25th, 50th 75th percentile) profiling. results discussed with use case genre subgenre classifications classification accuracies 89 73 percentile, respectively.
